Tourism Statistics Training in The Gambia

Acorn have just delivered a one-week tourism statistics training course to over 50 participants across the sector in The Gambia. This included validation of our recommendations to improve the system of tourism statistics in the country, which Acorn has been working on since the beginning of 2024 as part of the World Bank Tourism Diversification and Resilience Project. Sessions included basic tourism concepts, classifications and definitions, measuring inbound and domestic tourism, measuring accommodation and attractions, development of a tourism satellite account, and implementation of an online tourism statistics management system.
