Cultural Tourism - Supporting SMEs to Enter the European Market
12th July 2021
With the world a melting pot of vibrant heritage and diverse cultures, travelling abroad to experience different cultures is very popular on the European market and is set to grow in coming years as the COVID-19 pandemic eases and tourism resumes. Acorn Tourism’s new business guide for the CBI, part of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency delved deeply into the cultural tourism segment, providing detailed advice to local tour operators and SMEs in developing countries seeking to attract the European market.
There are numerous opportunities for developing countries to create unique, authentic and immersive experiences and the detailed guide provided practical advice for operators of tangible and intangible cultural attractions. Issues such as sustainability, authenticity and the need for good guides were explored and an assessment of the European market provided.
Acorn Tourism is working with the CBI on a three-year project to deliver a series of business studies to support the development of sustainable tourism products in developing countries worldwide.
