Thanet Visitor Survey 2025

This summer Acorn Tourism Consulting will run a two-wave visitor survey on behalf of Visit Thanet, taking place in June (pre-school-holidays) and August (peak season). The study will gather the robust evidence needed to shape Thanet’s new Five-Year Destination Management Framework.
What the research covers
Street interviews: 600 per wave, evenly split across the three towns and between day-trippers and overnight guests. Questions cover who visitors are, how much they spend, what motivates them and how satisfied they feel.
Social-listening: continuous monitoring of online conversations to uncover emerging opinions, praise and pain-points that traditional surveys might miss.
Contextual desk research: analysis of national and regional coastal-tourism trends to benchmark Thanet and track changes since the district’s last major study in 2018.
The combined results from all three research elements will be compiled into a comprehensive report for Visit Thanet. This report will highlight key findings, trends and recommendations in a clear, actionable format. These deliverables will equip Visit Thanet and its partners with evidence-based insights to guide strategic decision-making, destination marketing and the long-term development of the local visitor economy.
