Sustainable Branding and Marketing Training in Thailand
29th April 2024
In March our Director, Alison Burgh, was invited to travel to Thailand to undertake training workshops for leaders in the Thai tourism industry. This training was commissioned as a result of the branding and marketing manual that the Acorn team has developed for National Tourist Boards. The Manual provides a step-by-step approach, examples of good practice and resources to support national tourism organisations to build their sustainability Story. The modular process ensures their sustainable marketing and communication strategy can effectively position and promote their sustainable destination brand without fear of being accused of greenwashing.
The training in Thailand was a great success, with participants excited to have a framework and straightforward process on which to build their sustainability story. The interactive workshop was delivered to the product development team at the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the senior managers at the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) and the Thai Hotel Association (THA).
Alison worked alongside local tourism consultant Dr Jan Wisansing to develop and execute the training curriculum. The manual is currently being translated into Thai and will be available for all attendees to support them with future work.
