Acorn Tourism’s latest report for the CBI, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, How to be a Successful Company Online, offered robust guidance to tourism SMEs in developing countries seeking to attract the European market. Today, the Internet has become the most important research tool for travellers of all ages, and it has become increasingly important for local tour operators and other tourism organisations to have some sort of presence online so they can reach their source markets more effectively.
The guide covers a wide range of issues to help businesses build their own websites, generate good content, work with bloggers and influencers, do business with OTAs, and put together social media and advertising campaigns. The report is part of a series of reports commissioned by the CBI over a three-year period, and draws on Acorn Tourism’s considerable expertise in the sector supporting the development of sustainable tourism initiatives all over the world.
