T-Stats visit East Suffolk for local onboarding sessions
18th December 2023
Last month we visited our T-Stats Solutions clients in East Suffolk for two Business Partner Onboarding Sessions. The East Suffolk system is comparatively new, launched in February 2023, and business partner onboarding was required.
Onboarding sessions are a wonderful opportunity for tourism businesses, such as hotels and attractions, to come along and learn more about what destination data tracking can do for them and understand how engaging and sharing their data can help the teams supporting their businesses do it better.
The management of the East Suffolk system lies primarily with the Economic Development team within the Council, enthusiastically supported by the Brand Manager and Digital Marketing Manager at The Suffolk Coast Ltd DMO.
It was so lovely to be in the room with the three different parties and see each share their perspective, and in turn understand better how they can all work together and play their part in destination development. True collaboration!
Another interesting outcome of the conversations was that some of the attractions, and indeed the accommodation providers, have restaurants, cafés and food kiosks that they were keen to record the revenue for, and monitor alongside the other trackers how these sectors of their provision were performing, as part of the bigger picture, both seasonally and year on year.
The business partners were very excited to be able to share and view event data from around the region and understand how these impact their visitor numbers and occupancy; be they destination events such as festivals and fairs that encourage visitors (and spending!), or weather and transport events that can have a negative impact. Having access to analyse the daily granularity of the footfall counters and car park usage in the various towns throughout East Suffolk also gave the businesses further insight into how visitors were moving and behaving at certain times of year and across the weeks, weekends, and in relation to specific events.
It's always so rewarding to get out to our clients’ destinations and meet with them and the visitor economy businesses in person. It helps bring the systems to life in our minds and makes them more than just software and statistics.
