Summary
Visit Greenwich is the Royal Borough of Greenwich Destination Management Company, a partnership based, not for profit Community Interest Company. It works with partners in and around the area – with visitor attractions, accommodation providers, transport operators, meetings and events venues, the hospitality and retail sectors and the travel trade and media. As a private/public partnership, it is led by a board of tourism professionals, representing different sectors of the industry, with an independent chair. It promotes Greenwich and the surrounding area as a visitor destination and place to stay.
Visit Greenwich contracted Acorn T-Stats in 2015 to implement our online tourism statistics tracking system for the area.
Our Approach
The Visit Greenwich T-Stats system includes the tracking of accommodation occupancy, RevPAR and room rate, visits to attractions, attendance at events, Airbnb occupancy and expenditure, car park usage, city centre footfall, passengers or river and rail transport systems, visitors to the information centre, social media and website activity, and the weather.
Outcome
One of Visit Greenwich’s key goals is to use T-Stats to track all aspects of the visitor economy to fully understand how accommodation, attractions, transport and visitor flows all interact and impinge on each other.
